Mr. William W. Holt, a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, along with his loving wife Julia A. Holt, founded W. W. Holt Funeral Home Inc., in April of 1977. The present location of the Funeral Home is part of the city of Harvey’s main corridor of traffic. The inspiration to start the business and have it located within Harvey, the Spirit of the Lord prompted Illinois. Mr. Holt was a devout man of God who loved everyone and would extend every curtsey known to man unto everyone. His service style embodied that of “No Respect of Person”. There were only two words he expressed to explain unto all that matriculated the Funeral Home, and that was “My Friends”. Mr. Holt’s life was enriched over the years by knowing each members of the community. His wife Julia and he sat with families and got to know personally each one or their patrons. Their attitude was that of “We are a part of you – and you us”. They truly loved what they were able to do to ease the pain and sorrow of loved ones in their time of need. One thing for certain, they did their best for each and every family that came to the Funeral Home.

When they came to Harvey, no one could have known that they would meet the greatest people in the world, but they did. Julia and he worked hard to build this business with an upstanding legacy in the community. The community, local pastors and dedicated families made W. W. Holt Funeral Home, Inc., a great place. For that both they and we are grateful, as my sister Carol, the Grandsons – Calvin, Cornelius, Rapheal, Robert and me promised both William and Julia Holt that we would continue the business they cherished. A business that has burned bright over the years, serving our patrons, their families and the community with love, respect, and heart felt appreciation with excellence.

To the Pastors, thank you for your support. W. W. Holt Funeral Home, Inc., would not have been successful without you and your members. You embraced us, and put your arms around us, and you helped us more than you will ever know. Your members know to call W. W. Holt Funeral Home and we are honored, even as our Parents, to answer the call. Our parents and we will never forget your loyalty.

Finally, as we all were personally mentored and trained by William and Julia Holt to carry on in the business, know that the legacy lives on within each one of us and other members of the Holt Family. Please know that in honor of our parents/grandparents, the same quality of service to the community they exhibited shall continue with the same level of respect and devotion to caring for your needs. Together, the grandson’s and other members of the Holt Family are faithfully committed and continuing, in the spiritual of excellence, the legacy of service you have become acquainted with at W. W.
