Dillie C. Johnson born February 27, 1937 to Daniel and Hattiebell Coats in Lexington, MS. She was born in a family of three sets of twins; with her being one. Her mother had three girls and three boys: Inell, Darnell, Louise, Leroy , Dillie and Daniel.
Dillie married her husband Wardell Johnson on September 27, 1954. They had three children; two sons and one daughter. They moved here to Chicago, IL in 1955. She worked for the State of Illinois for about 10 years as well as Alden Heather Manor for over 9 years.
Dillie attended New Christian Valley Church for many years. She had a passion for putting puzzles together, playing solitaire, crocheting outfits for dolls, and raising her three dogs.
After a lengthy battle of illness, Dillie was welcomed into glory by our heavenly Father on June 6, 2019. She has been reunited in eternity with four of her siblings: Darnell (Debra) Coat, Louise (John) Alexander, Leroy and Daniel. One son, Wardell Johnson, Jr. and one grandson, Michael Johnson.
Dillies’ legacy will be cherished on by her husband, Wardell Johnson; daughter, Faristen (Glenn) Stokes; son, Clayce Johnson; one sister, Inell; 7 grandchildren: Aja, Danzell, Romell, Karen, Clayc, Tia and Rashonda; 14 nieces; 6 nephews; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends. A very special niece, Jeanette Alexander whom she loved dearly.
