Helen C. Jones-Scott was born to the union of Floyd and Doris Jones on March 3, 1959, in Geiger, Alabama. She was the second child born to this union. Helen received her education in Robbins, Illinois at Lincoln Memorial and Thomas J. Kellar School and Thornton High School in Harvey, Illinois. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Robbins, Illinois under the late Rev. David Blake.
Helen met Jesse Earl Scott and they eventually married, which death parted after 39 years. They were blessed with four children.
She was employed for a few years at Heather Manor where she became a favorite of the residents and captured everyone’s heart and later she was employed at Ingalls Memorial Hospital until she relocated to Macomb, Illinois. Helen was loved by her neighbors and family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother ad grandmother and was the heart of her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Floyd and Doris; step-father, Les Jones; two brothers: Lorenzo (Top) Jones, Les Jones, Jr. (Baby Les); and one sister, Connie Jones.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory; a loving spouse, Jesse Earl Scott; one son, Jesse Edmund Scott; three daughters: Chalisa Scott, Tanisha (Duane) Gosa, and Alisha (Telly) Scott-Woods in Macomb, IL; two sisters: Deborah Jones - Richmond in Harvey, IL, Phyllis Armstrong in Richton Park, IL; two brothers: Stevie (Cecelia) Jones and Lord Edward Jones; six grandchildren: Scott, Jayceon Scott, Genesis, Daris, Roman & Zaria Gosa. A faithful mother-in-law, Odie Mae Scott of Harvey, IL; sisters-in-law;brothers-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A special nephew, DeShawn Jones of Quincy, IL; and two special friends, Susan and Yolanda of Harvey, IL
