Sidney Ramey Sr.

Sidney Drayton Ramey was born on August 29th, 1964 to Thomas "Poppin Dollar" and Vera Jean Ramey in Chicago, IL. Sidney grew up in Harvey, IL. He graduated from Thornridge High School.

Sidney met the love of his life Brenda McDuffy whom proceeds him in death. In that union they created six children. Sidney took pride in his six children, and his fourteen grandchildren whom he dedicated his life to and is very proud of his children.

Sidney had many gifts, but his passion was carpentry work. If you knew Sidney you knew "FRANK!" He loved to bbq, go fishing, spending time with family, hanging out, traveling, he loved a good cigar and a cocktail (back in the day).

Sidney was the life of any party, and he never missed his numbers (lottery)! Sidney enjoyed attending church with his sister, Yolande and brother-in-law, Jerry. Recently Sidney joined Fellowship at Christ Temple Community Church, Gary, Indiana.

On November 29, 2023, God peacefully called Sidney to his eternal home. Death saddens people but Sidney will truly be missed.

Sidney leaves behind to cherish memories his mother; Vera Jean, six children; Sidney, Shanell, Shalanda (Ian), Sedric and Deshaun along with his fourteen grandchildren Shaniya, Iyanna, Shamiya, Alejandro, Cedreanna, Javion, Christiana, Mekhi, Masion, Sedric Jr, Zion, Shaun Jr, Zuri B. and Ian III. His sister's; Sharon, Carol, Tracy, and Yolanda (Jerry). A host of niece's and nephew's and a lot of friends whom he cherished deeply.

Sidney is preceded in death by his son; Shaun, his life partner, Brenda, his father; "Poppin Dollar", his sister's; Yvonne, Angela, and Kimberly, his brother's; Michael and Christopher.
