Willie L. Stewart, Sr. 

Willie L. Stewart, Sr. entered this life on March 28, 1943, in Boliver County, MS; the 5th of 6 sons born to Rosie Lee and Ennis Stewart; all of which preceded him in death: Ivy, LeValle, Roosevelt of Detroit, MI; Ennis, Jr. and Johnnie B. of Chicago, IL. 

Willie grew up in Skene, MS. and attended McEvans High School in Shaw, MS, he would often accompany his mother on fishing trips; and at a young age felt it was his responsibility to provide for his family. 

Willie came to Chicago during the mid-60;s; and lived with his oldest sister. Soon after, he met his current wife, Gerrie; with whom he spent the remaining almost 60 years until his death. 

Throughout Willie's life he was a hard worker and family provider; he had a good heart. He retired from the Housing Authority County of Cook, after 35 years in 2008. After retirement he enjoyed his garden, fixing "everything", and maintaining his cars. 

Willie leaves to cherish his precious memories to his three sons: Andre Stewart (Renee), Rodney Stewart and Willie Stewart, Jr.; three sisters: Annie Mae Collier, Earlean Cowen, and Johnnie Mae Conklin; granddaughter, Cortney Little (Gerald) of CA; four grandsons: Rodney Stewart (Serita) of NC, Ryan Stewart (Rosie) of CA, Cameron Stewart (Mia), and Jamari Stewart; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
